The BLACK and WHITE of Fashion

The runways have sparked a return to the stunning simplicity of black and white. But the trend comes with a twist - black and white comes with playful patterns and textures. From red carpet glamour, to casual chic, celebs have noticed too.

Verrier - Blake Lively at a DKNY party in March - Cynthia Steffe - Michael Kors - Eva Mendes in RARE vintage - Alexander McQueen

White carries the light and has a high vibration - those who wear it tend to be very spiritual. By contrast, black has an absorbing vibration, giving it the ability to absorb energy rather than reflect it.

E.Y Wada: Korean Girl Meets Japanese Boy!

New York based E.Y. Wada showcased their new fall collection at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Bryant Park where bourgeois and bohemian found a happy mix.

Inspired by New York street style they combined casual basics with elegant details and reinventing standard pieces with luxury materials. With fabrics sourced from Italy and Paris they like to experiment with new treatments. Combinations include linen woven with bamboo for spring, lamé houndstooth for fall.

The new fall pieces are "darker" but the designers caught the new wave of fall color and made this collection really strong and elegant. Monochromatic satin pencil skirts, fitted tops, satin shirts and maxi dresses illuminated the catwalk. Congratulation goes out to Eunyoung and Shuji as the Big Apple adopted your style!

The collection included some beautiful prints, derived from images of marble and limestone distorted to the pint that they resembled snakeskin, adorned sleeveless dresses and little skirts. At first, the collection didn't seem to be a fall collection. Bare legs and lightweight silk might work for winter in Reyes ' hometwown Bogota but for the rest of us we need something to help us stay warm.
