Charlotte Ronson is fierce with her '09 dark collection!

Charlotte Ronson might be the young designer best known for her uptown-meets-downtown trust fund hipster girl look, but this season she took a drastically different approach to her fall/winter 2009 collection that should be in fine stores everywhere!

While at most runway shows the photographers gather around the runway and the front row, most of the attending photographers at Ronson's show were more interested in what was going on at the DJ booth. Charlotte's sister Samantha was DJ-ing while girlfriend girlfriend Lindsay Lohan stood by here and posed for the attending press.

On the catwalk, Ronson showed a very dark, very moody collection. The shapes were pretty simple with a few cut-outs here and there, which were strange and almost looked like a haphazard attempt to add more edge to the styles.
Ronson's flirty nerds wore black leather and body-hugging knits, but tempered them perfectly with Forties references like aviator vests and high waists.

Ronson really stunned her crowd with awesome music and lights.

All in all Charlotte Ronson is definitely a one of a kind designer!

Chado Ralph Rucci's Fall '09 collection! Shop Now!

Many people have been impatiently waiting for what coveted American couturier Chado Ralph Rucci had up his sleeve.

On his runway show he surprised his audience by strategically placing provocative "slashes" on several of his creations as well as intricate lattice work and sheer panels with the most ingenious of patterns and designs.
Rucci also experimented with the structural oversized sleeve that gave some of his looks a more modern and avant-garde edge as seen on his zebra pattern silk velvet jacket and others.

The runway was also stark white, very shiny, with three ramps the models walked up and around.
All in all a very structured and modern collection!

Carolina Herrera's 18th Century Look

New York Fashion week shows consists of many talented designers' collections. One of them was Carolina Herrera with her stylish and classic collection fall collection. Herrera's presentation was everything you would expect. Glamourous, sophisticated, elegant and rich in both colour and textures. Staged in the Tent in Bryant Park, the show opened powerfully with some fantastic copper looks in gazar, silk and lace.
Forget about the '80's, it was all about uptown elegance. Feminine pieces, designed with the actual female form in mind, floated down the runway in bronzed business suits, high-waisted pencil skirts, shimmery satin blouses in purple, fuchsia and teal.

The collection was almost ageless and offered many pieces suitable for everyday wear. The Carolina Herrera show was definitely a hit!

Carolina Herrera, the Venezuelan-born designer who has dressed high profiled ladies including Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, talked about power and optimism. " Fashion should be very powerful," she said. According to Herrera, her line is about women expressing their optimism even in times of economic crisis.
